  • You can now add multiple organizers to Events and Appointments. You can also change the organizer from yourself to someone else.

  • If you integrate with Bynder digital asset management, the asset selector is now also available when editing News articles, Pages, and Events

Fixes

  • Fixed: In some cases, the search function would not find status updates and pages

  • Fixed: Events widget listed more than the configured maximum number

  • Fixed: On the groups page, sorting by last activity date would not work

Improved Statistics and lots of other Improvements

Statistics

Viadesk intranet is packed with statistics to get the most out of the platform. To put these metrics to even better use, some helpful refinements were implemented:

  • We improved the statistics screens in Setup, Groups, and News: the layout of these screens is now uniform.

  • All metrics, including the new ‘Active members’ and ‘Pageviews/Member’, are now gathered into one chart.

  • Flexible filtering (such as filter on Member list!) and sorting options allow group managers and webmasters to dive deeper into the data and see how the platform is performing.

  • Note: on big platforms, the first few times you visit Statistics the screen could take some time to calculate

In addition, we have made lots of improvements and bug fixes. 

Font

  • The default font has been changed from Arial to the device system font.

  • If you already use an alternative font, nothing will have changed.

  • In case you specifically want Arial as the font on your platform go to: Setup > General > Logo and Colors > Titles and Text and in the Body Font Family field add the following: Arial, sans-serif

Mentions

  • Mentions are now correctly displayed on all item pages

  • When mentioning someone, more results are shown 

  • News articles don't notify non-editors anymore if they are mentioned before the publication date 

  • A bug has been fixed where, sometimes, it was possible to mention someone that was not a member of the group the item was in.

Appointments and Events

  • Removing a recurring appointment instance is now possible via the Calendar widget. Click on the link in the calendar widget and choose Delete to delete the instance

  • We've made the unregister link on the events page more visible 

  • Repeating appointments would sometimes not appear in external calendars (via iCal). This has been fixed. 

  • A bug has been fixed where an appointment reminder email would be sent even if you didn't participate 

  • A bug has been fixed where members would still be able to create appointments by clicking in the calendar, even though adding appointments was disabled

  • Some bugs were fixed when saving changes to appointments with a large number of attendees 

Items

  • The bookmarklet (see Help > Bookmarklet), which allows you to quickly share web links in groups, has been improved and now has the option to add the title and add tags. 

  • Videos in status updates now have a download button.

  • If you like or dislike an item, this is now better visible to yourself: the icon becomes solid 

  • The option to add a 'Heading 1' (H1) has been removed from the rich text editor, because of accessibility reasons

  • We now use the default browser method for picking times and dates. This ensures a more accessible experience for all users and improves the experience on mobile platforms. Refer to the manual of your browser if you have questions.

  • There is now a better message for users, indicating whether a survey is public 

  • A bug has been fixed where special characters were broken in file names, if a ZIP was downloaded 

  • A bug has been fixed where sometimes wrong folders would be shown when moving items 

  • Clicking on a response notification of an item now redirects to the comment, rather than the top of the page 

  • Exporting surveys to XLS now uses the correct cell type for time and date.

  • A bug has been fixed where incoming e-mails would be shown in the timeline of a group, even though this was supposed to be hidden 

  • Hyphenation has now been enabled, which improves the layout when very long words or URLs are used 

  • News portal editors now have permission to edit replies and comments to news articles 

Setup

  • Forms and item templates now have a duplication option 

  • Webmaster user export now includes the external ID 

  • System events now log member changes in a group (members added/deleted in a group, member permissions changed in a group)

  • A bug has been corrected where webmasters were unable to change a members email address on SAML domains 

  • A bug has been fixed where sometimes the registration link would be shown on the login page, even though this was disabled on the platform

  • A bug has been fixed where new members sometimes would not go through the activation wizard but immediately would go to the portal or start page.

  • A bug has been fixed where member export in groups didn't contain members in member lists 

  • A bug has been fixed in the Members module in Setup, where filtering on a group would not work correctly 

More

  • The performance of the All Groups page has been improved 

  • The performance of the Task manager pages are improved

  • The birthday widget had a cap of 8 birthdays; this cap has now been removed. 

  • There is now a better message for users, in case they are locked out because of multiple wrong password entries 

  • A bug has been fixed where login pages with a lot of text could have two scrollbars instead of one 

  • A bug has been fixed where a notification would be sent with the wrong text after a member requested access to a group 

  • Some translations are fixed on the platform and in the emails 

Viadesk API

  • The Viadesk API documentation for developers has been moved to support.viadesk.com

  • A bug is fixed in the News API, where trying to update an existing article would result in a new news article 

  • There is a new Page API

Calendar improvements and more

Calendar

  • Recurring appointments now offer the ability to create exceptions, on which the appointment doesn't take place. Simply click on the date in the calendar, then use Delete to delete a single instance, or all appointments. Exceptions will be shown on the appointment page, and members will be notified. Tip: to change a recurring appointment on only one date, simply create an exception for that date, then create a single new appointment with the alternative time and date

  • A bug has been fixed where the body text of appointments would not have been included in the iCal feed

  • A bug has been fixed where all day appointments with no reminder set, would sent reminders at seemingly random intervals

  • A bug has been fixed that in some cases would prevent searching for locations in appointments

  • If you create a copy of an appointment, now all properties are copied, including start and end time

  • Unpredictable results with using parameters start and end in the calendar URL are fixed

  • A bug was fixed with responding to Appointment emails in Lotus Notes

Chat

  • Chat export didn't correctly encode the title of the chat; this has been fixed

News

  • Activity on news items or pages before the publication date is now hidden

  • Some issues with the RSS import are fixed

  • A bug has been fixed that could throw an unexpected system error when changing a news article

Startpage

  • A layout bug has been changed when hiding items from the timeline on mobile devices

  • A bug has been fixed where groups would be displayed multiple times in the preferences of the Activity widget

Groups & Items

  • The group's creation date is now added to the group management page

  • A bug has been fixed when moving an item, where sometimes incorrect folders would be shown

  • A bug has been fixed where, when exporting a folder to a ZIP file, the setting of “Also download older versions of documents” would be ignored

  • A bug has been fixed with inconsistent naming of files with identical names

  • The Groups widget on the profile page now has the option to sort per category

  • A download button has been added to the preview page of files

  • An option has been added in the 'Activity mail' screen to (de)select all members at once

  • A bug has been fixed where the group menu would not be shown on the definition page of a tag 

  • The page for selecting a related items had been improved with pagination. Before, large lists could make the page slow in the browser

  • The embed code for Microsoft Streams is now whitelisted, meaning you can easily add Microsoft Streams videos in your content

  • The interface language can now be quickly changed from the bottom of the page (on desktop only)

  • In forms, you can now see who approved or rejected a form

  • A bug has been fixed that would stop importing members completely from an Excel sheet, if one of the email addresses would be invalid

  • In the rich text editor it is now better possible to change the color of text on mobile devices

  • Viadesk member export now happens in XLSX format instead of XLS

Bug fixes and (many) small improvements

Calendar

  • The calendar has an improved experience on mobile devices. For example, on phones the appointment names are hidden in the week view, allowing for a cleaner layout and less scrolling. 

  • In the appointment poll, the radio buttons for the selection of the date have been moved to the right.

  • The appointment poll has several other improvements, like a better alert that you still need to vote, and showing the polling dates in the calendar.

  • If you click on an appointment in the calendar and go back with the browser Back button, you now end up in the same week as where you came from.

  • Full-year date formats are now shown on the appointment page.

Events

  • Many improvements under the hood.

  • Additional participants are now included correctly in the participants export.

  • The subject of the confirmation email after subscribing to an event is improved.

Metadata

  • The Keyword (tags) overview in Setup has an improved experience. It now shows you exactly in which groups they are used.

  • A bug has been fixed that could lead to incorrectly displayed tag names if they have special characters in them.

  • Several layout issues with long tag names have been fixed.

  • Some counting problems of keywords/tags with different under-/uppercase characters have been fixed.

  • A bug in which the group menu would not show up after clicking on a tag has been fixed.

Forms

  • A bug has been fixed in which the Form management button would show up incorrectly for users who cannot review forms.

  • Problems with the PDF export of forms have been fixed.

  • Form entries now show a clickable email address next to the name.

  • In the Groups and Managers screen under Setup, you can now see if a group has an MS Teams site attached to it.

  • Improved email notification for a chat message with just an image; it now displays the name of that image.

  • Clearer instructions for webmasters who want to change the email address of a member.

  • The mention tooltip was broken in some places, this has been fixed.

  • Pagination buttons at the bottom of the members' page didn't work properly, this has been fixed.

  • The action when a webmaster adds/removes another member to/from the webmasters' list is now logged under System Events for security reasons.

  • The Find A Group field from the application bar now shows a loupe icon for better clarity.

  • Member couldn't leave a group if they are a member of a group member list; this has been fixed.

  • The 'New In…' email now hides the author name, when a news item is published by "From the News Editors".

  • A counting bug in the (dis)likes when a document version is deleted has been fixed.

  • The Home group is now listed correctly on the Aspirant page.

  • A bug has been fixed that would not allow members to change their profile picture if the photo had extra dots in the file name.

  • A sorting bug of news articles in the ‘New In…’ mail has been fixed.

New Calendar widget and Bynder integration

Calendar

  • The Calendar and Outlook widgets have a simpler layout making it more accessible 

  • In the Calendar widget you can choose between list and column view layout 

  • You can now opt to display your Outlook calendar on your profile for others to see, when you are logged in via OpenID / Microsoft 365. This option needs to be turned on by Fellow Digitals before it is available.

  • Events which you create, but don't participate in yourself, won't be shown in the Calendar widget anymore.

Integrations

  • Bynder Digital Asset Management integration. To start using it go to Setup > Integrations > Bynder

  • All integrations can now be found under Setup > Integrations

  • A bug has been fixed that would display an error message on the last page of a survey

Improved Chat functionality and more

Chat

  • The chat now shows a send button to send your message

  • The behavior of the enter key is now dependent on your device: on desktop devices, the enter key will send the message; on mobile devices, the enter key will create a new line

News

  • It is now possible to hide the author of a news article, and have it say “from the editors”. This comes in handy for example if a member posts a news article on behalf of somebody else.

  • Sometimes the Unpublished Articles widget would have too little contrast in the title. This has been fixed.

  • On the news page in groups, the tags widget was always displayed despite the setting. This has been fixed.

  • On the Editorial Management page, deactivated participants are no longer displayed.

  • A bug has been fixed where setting permissions of a sub-folder would not be stored correctly

  • A bug has been fixed where sometimes a confirmation email would not be send if an invitee would accept an appointment

  • Problems with importing contacts have been fixed

  • A problem with searching contacts was found and fixed

  • During registration, it is now easier to set a standard image in case the user doesn't have a photo: the standard images are now shown from the start

  • A bug has been fixed where search would not respect the ‘last modified' date of notes

  • A bug has been fixed where the title of the shortcuts widget could unintentionally wrap if it is a link

  • A bug has been fixed where iframes would not work if the URL contained a ‘?’ character

  • In the Android and iOS app, ‘www’ can now be omitted when entering the domain URL

  • Cosmetic changes to the Statistics page 

  • On some pages, the date field was too little. This has been fixed.

  • Issues have been resolved in the XLS export of Events.

  • A bug is solved where participants were shown multiple times during filtering on the participant page in Setup.

  • The sender of emails from Viadesk is now always the system email address as set in "Setup > Notifications > Email and notifications". To make it possible for the recipient to reply to the email, a 'Reply To' field has been added to the 'Write Email' page.
